Practice Update: PHYSIQ Body Contouring

As we gear up for spring’s active rhythms in Montecito, and begin to accumulate tools in the fitness space, I’m thrilled to introduce PHYSIQ —a multi-modality device from Cartessa that interfaces aesthetics with electrical muscle stimulation (EMS). At its heart, it serves as a primer on the neuromuscular junction, that vital synapse where motor neurons meet muscle fibers.

By harnessing EMS, PHYSIQ delivers targeted impulses to re-educate deconditioned muscles, particularly in the legs, glutes, core, and abdomen. The EMS function mimics natural nerve signals to engage deep muscle fibers beyond voluntary efforts. This can help injured tissue as part of a rehabilitation protocol, or injury prevention for those motivated to start a muscle building regimen.

Using exclusive STEP (Sequential Thermal & Electrical Pulse) technology, it can combine EMS with laser diodes for mixed muscle stimulation and fat-burning modes, if body contouring is the goal. The fat-burning mode via LZR selectively targets subcutaneous fat using four individualized probes.

The dual functionality is particularly useful for hard-to-treat areas of subcutaneous adiposity, while concomitantly prioritizing hypertrophic results in the larger stabilizing musculature as part of a balance training protocol—or for those suffering from muscle loss from GLP-1 use.

Consider this a fun pairing with our InBody body composition device to track before-and-after changes for those interested. Contact us for a free 30-minute session if interested!
